You Wouldn’t Hit a Bat with Glasses on, Would You?

250px-Transylvania_6_5000_stillOur Sunday evening was interrupted by a screech from one of our girls that there was “a bird, or a bat” in her room.  Halfway up the stairs, sure enough, I see this little bat flutter out of her room and into the hallway.  Thinking quickly as it headed toward the back stairs, we strategically closed a couple of doors and I managed to trap the bat in the kitchen.  It landed on one of the kitchen window curtains, but would take off and flutter around the kitchen before I could get to it.  It occurred to me that the bat might be able to sense an open door and escape, which it did within a few seconds of my holding the kitchen door open.

Fortunately, more extreme measures weren’t necessary.

  1. Not reading…. not reading… (peeking….)

Okay, well, it’s good I didn’t read that.

Fortunately, our daughter can say for sure that she wasn’t bitten. Having all four of her wisdom teeth out at once two days later is more than enough trauma, thank you.
