Our Sunday evening was interrupted by a screech from one of our girls that there was “a bird, or a bat” in her room. Halfway up the stairs, sure enough, I see this little bat flutter out of her room and into the hallway. Thinking quickly as it headed toward the back stairs, we strategically closed a couple of doors and I managed to trap the bat in the kitchen. It landed on one of the kitchen window curtains, but would take off and flutter around the kitchen before I could get to it. It occurred to me that the bat might be able to sense an open door and escape, which it did within a few seconds of my holding the kitchen door open.
Fortunately, more extreme measures weren’t necessary.
