Thinking of the new year, there are things I would like to have be part of, or more part of, my life. And other things I would like to have gone from life or, at least, l would like them to be less a part of my life than they have been.

Things I would like to be more part of my life; patience, kindness, thoughtfulness, good humor, making (as well as listening to) music, writing as well as reading, I would like to enjoy more, but eat and drink less, spend more time outdoors, and try not to dwell on the negative quite so much.

Maybe I’ll let you know how it goes. Maybe I won’t. Guess you’ll have to see for yourself.

Just Another Day

Was it only a year ago we were passing through this region of space? It hasn’t changed a bit and yet, somehow, it feels different. To paraphrase St. Augustine, “What is time? If no one asks me, I know: if I wish to explain it to one that asks, I know not.”

Happy New Year? Sure, why not? Today is as much a reason to celebrate as any.

Happy New Year.
